As the West Asian crisis gained momentum in Libya, Bahrain and other countries, oil witnessed volatile trading. US crude jumped to USD 98 while Brent traded around the USD 110 per barrel levels.


Copper prices posted their biggest one-day gain in two and a half weeks but remained fragile due to uncertainty on the economic impact of Japan's nuclear crisis. However, renewed investor risk appetite and hopes of Japan's reconstruction after a recovery in Asian markets driven by Nikkei, boosted demand.
