TN judges to donate day's salary to CMs' relief fund

Chennai, Jan 26 (PTI): Madras High Court Chief Justice M Y Eqbal has announced that the Tamil Nadu judicial fraternity will each donate a day's salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and Puducherry Chief Minister's Relief fund. A press release from the High Court Registrar General today said 70 per cent of the amount would be for the state and the remaining 30 per cent for relief and rehabilitation rehabilitation of victims of the recent cyclone 'Thane' at Cuddalore, Villupuram and Puducherry districts. The decision to make the donation was taken after the Chief Justice had met High Court Judges, judicial staff and ministerial staff of the state judiciary.
