Expect 10-year bond yield to trend towards 7.50%: Dalal

We expect yield curve to steepen further with yields of short and medium-term govt bonds likely to fall more than long-term G-Sec, says Dhawal Dalal, DSP BlackRock.

Dhawal Dalal, DSP BlackRock said, "Bond market participants were pleasantly surprised with a 50 bps reduction in the Repo Rate yesterday. We expect yield curve to steepen further with yields of short and medium-term government bonds likely to fall more than long-term G-Sec. The benchmark 10-year bond yield is expected to trend towards 7.50% in the near term."
