As nationwide protests continue across Iran against the Islamic Republic, media reports suggest the death toll has crossed 12,000, with some estimates placing it as high as 20,000.
According to Iran International and CBS News sources, restored phone lines inside the country have revealed the scale of the crackdown amid demonstrations demanding freedom from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s rule.
Amid the unrest, exiled Iranian prince Reza Pahlavi addressed supporters worldwide, saying Iran under the Islamic Republic has been wrongly reduced to images of terrorism, extremism, and poverty, while the “real Iran” remains peaceful, prosperous, and culturally rich.
Social media has been flooded with protest imagery, from women lighting cigarettes using burning pictures of Khamenei to public defiance of mandatory hijab rules. A new viral video now shows a young Iranian child delivering an aggressive message directed at the United States. The child’s age and identity could not be independently verified by Moneycontrol.
In the video, the child is heard saying, “You, who spilled blood of our martyrs. Do you think you've won? No! We will grow up. We will become the soldiers of Iran. We will stand against you.”
Iranian child promises to grow up and 'LEVEL' Trump's 'country to the ground' 'You, who spilled blood of our martyrs. Do you think you've won? No! We will grow up. We will become the soldiers of Iran. We will stand against you' pic.twitter.com/50lgSVBOtY— RT (@RT_com) January 14, 2026
The clip has sparked intense debate online, with many viewing it as a reflection of how deeply the conflict and unrest have penetrated Iranian society, even as protests against the government continue to escalate.
Netizens were quick to react to the video, with responses sharply divided. While some criticised the child’s remarks, calling him “brainwashed like the rest of the TDS group” and asking, “Who TF brainwashed this kid?”, others defended the sentiment, arguing that “Iran has a right to self-defence.”
