Amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has issued a fresh advisory for Indian nationals living in the United Arab Emirates, urging them to remain calm, vigilant, and follow the safety guidelines issued by local authorities.

The advisory comes at a time when tensions across West Asia have intensified following coordinated airstrikes by the United States and Israel across multiple cities in Iran, targeting military command centres, missile sites, air-defence systems, and other strategic infrastructure. The developments have raised security alerts across several Gulf countries.

Embassy advises Indians to stay alert and follow UAE guidelines

In its advisory, the Indian Embassy asked all Indian nationals residing in the UAE to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay updated with official announcements issued by the UAE authorities and the embassy.

The mission emphasised that Indian citizens should remain calm and continue to follow safety advisories while authorities closely monitor the evolving regional situation.

The embassy also shared the advisory on its official social media platform X.

Airspace restrictions continue, limited special flights operating

The embassy clarified that regional airspace and regular scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the ongoing situation.

However, airlines from India and the UAE have started operating limited non-scheduled flights to several Indian destinations in coordination with UAE authorities and subject to safety approvals.

Stranded Indian nationals who wish to return home can book seats on these special flights by contacting their respective airlines.

UAE waives overstay fines for stranded travellers

The advisory also addressed concerns of Indian nationals whose visas may have expired but who are unable to leave the country due to the current disruptions.

According to the update, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security has waived overstay fines for affected individuals, including those on tourist visas and other visa categories.

This temporary relief aims to support travellers and residents who are unable to exit the country because of flight disruptions.

Embassy and consulate services continue normally

The Indian government also reassured citizens that diplomatic missions remain fully operational.

Both the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai are functioning normally, along with all outsourced passport, consular, and visa services.

Officials said Indian authorities are in constant contact with UAE authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian citizens in the country.

24×7 helpline numbers for Indian nationals in UAE

The embassy said it will continue to share updates and advisories through its official website and social media platforms as the situation evolves.

Advisory urges Indians to remain cautious

Given the ongoing regional uncertainty, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has advised all Indian nationals in the UAE to exercise caution, remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and strictly follow instructions issued by UAE authorities.

The government also reiterated that it is closely monitoring developments across the Middle East and is taking necessary steps to safeguard Indian citizens abroad.
