Wipro's Asia Pacific, India, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) president Anis Chenchah resigned on May 10, the company said in an exchange filing.

Chenchah is the first big departure after former chief executive officer Thierry Delaporte resigned on April 6. Interestingly, both Delaporte and Chenchah have worked in France-headquartered  Capgemini. Chencha joined Wipro when Delaporte was the CEO of Wipro.

Additionally, the Bengaluru-based information technology (IT) appointed Vinay Firake as the APMEA chief executive officer.

The Capgemini veteran was replaced by a Wipro veteran in what is being seen as the first big departure after Pallia took charge as CEO.

Firake has been with Wipro for 26 years and has grown with the organization, serving in various leadership roles. He was most recently the Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Wipro-Nordics Business Unit based in Stockholm, where he led operations across all industries and services.

Prior to that, Firake led the Manufacturing & Automotive Business Unit in Europe and held various roles spanning Europe and North America, including Global Head for the Enterprise Digital Operations & Platforms business and Sales Head for Wipro's Enterprise Applications businesses in Europe.

On May 2, Wipro had elevated Hari Shetty as its Chief Strategist and Sales Excellence Officer.
