Information technology firm Wipro Ltd on May 2 elevated Hari Shetty as its Chief Strategist and Sales Excellence Officer from immediate effect, it said in an exchange filing.
Shetty is a 31-year-old veteran at the company and led the technology platform, products, and gaming business division before the appointment.
He is the first CXO-level personnel to be appointed after Srinivas Pallia took over as the new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director on April 6.
"His expertise encompasses client engagement, strategy development, execution, and P&L oversight for his business," Wipro said in the filing.
In his previous capacity, Hari was pivotal as the “Change & Transform” leader for the consumer business division, where he led four bets: digital transformation, cloud services, engineering services, and cybersecurity.
Wipro said Shetty is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and holds a CFA and LLB degree.
