After testing the Message Draft feature for several months with beta users, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform has finally rolled it out into the stable build and is now available to all WhatsApp users across all the platforms including Android and iOS operating systems globally. The feature aims to make it easier and more efficient for users to locate and complete an unfinished message.
What is Message Draft in WhatsAppWell, the Draft feature in WhatsApp acts in the same way it does in emails. What this means, is that it helps users identify an unfinished message they were typing and left in the middle.
According to the company, the feature helps people quickly locate them, a “Draft” indicator will now appear for any unfinished messages and move them to the top of the chats list.
WhatsApp Message Draft rolloutWhat’s in it for usersThe feature, as already explained, allows users to get back to the message they were typing and left in the middle for some reason. Now, it is easy for users to forget about that half-written and unsent message and remember it later only to regret it. The feature does not denote this with a new ‘Draft’ tag and brings up the chat to keep people aware of that unsent message.
Other WhatsApp improvementsThis is not the only feature WhatsApp has added to the platform recently. The feature, however, comes as a part of the company’s effort to make the platform more practical and convenient for users.
