Singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham has become the centre of online reaction after social media was flooded with memes about her at her son Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding. The reaction followed Brooklyn’s claim that his mother danced “very inappropriately” with him during his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn made the claim in a long public statement on Instagram, where he described an incident at his 2022 wedding. He said singer Marc Anthony called him on stage in front of almost 500 guests. The moment, he said, was meant to be the first dance with Nicola, which had been planned weeks in advance.

Instead, Brooklyn alleged, Victoria was waiting on stage and joined him. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” he wrote. He added that he had “never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”

Several sources reported that Victoria has been upset by the online attention. According to The Sun, a source said, “Victoria is really embarrassed now she’s being mocked online, it’s just devastating to her.”

David Beckham addressed the situation briefly while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He did not directly respond to his son’s comments but said, “Children make mistakes. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes, that is how they learn. That’s what I try to teach my kids. But sometimes you also have to let them make those mistakes.”

Brooklyn’s post also included wider claims about his relationship with his parents. He said they had “tried endlessly to ruin my relationship” with Nicola and tried to make him sign away rights to his own name before the wedding. He also alleged that relatives had questioned Nicola’s place in the family before the wedding.
