State Bank of India’s (SBI) mobile banking services have been facing technical issues, affecting users across the country. Several customers have reported failures with mobile banking and funds transfer.
Users report outages
Downdetector data shows a sharp rise in outage reports for SBI’s mobile banking and fund services, with complaints peaking between 11 to 11:30 am IST. About 64% of reported issues were related to mobile banking, 33% to fund transfer, and 3% to ATM issues. Users have taken to social media to express concerns about failed transactions, with many reporting delays in payments and difficulties accessing their accounts.

What SBI has to say
In a post shared on social media platform X, SBI said, "Due to Annual Closing activities our digital Services will be unavailable to our esteemed customers between 01:00 pm to 04:00 pm (IST) on 01.04.2025. We request you to use UPI Lite and ATM Channels for uninterrupted services. We apologise for the inconvenience caused." However, the statement mentions that services will be down from 1 pm and doesn't say what issue is affecting users right now.

SBI hasn’t made any official comment as of now on what the reason behind users facing issues is. Having said that, new UPI rules have come into place from April 1 which require active mobile numbers. So that might be one of the reasons several users are facing difficulty doing mobile banking transactions.
