OpenAI says GPT-5.3 Instant also reduces hallucination rates across multiple evaluation tests. According to internal testing, hallucinations dropped by 26.8 percent when using web information and by 19.7 percent when relying only on internal knowledge compared with earlier models.

The company also says the model produces stronger writing with better structure and detail. It can move more smoothly between practical tasks and creative writing without losing clarity.

GPT-5.3 Instant is available starting March 3, 2026 in ChatGPT and for developers through the API under the model name gpt-5.3-chat-latest. OpenAI says GPT-5.2 Instant will remain available for paid users in the model picker for three months before being retired on June 3, 2026.
