The First Look

Samsung has released a teaser ahead of The First Look 2026 at CES, offering early insight into the company’s focus areas for the upcoming year. The short video, unveiled on December 23, highlights the theme “Your Companion to AI Living,” pointing to deeper integration of artificial intelligence across Samsung’s product ecosystem.

What the teaser reveals

According to Samsung, the teaser reflects its vision of embedding AI into everyday experiences rather than positioning it as a standalone feature. The video uses animated lights and flowing lines that gradually form silhouettes of upcoming products, suggesting a connected portfolio spanning televisions, home appliances, and personal devices. The closing frames show the lights converging at Wynn Las Vegas, confirming the venue for The First Look 2026 media event.

While the teaser avoids naming specific products, it reinforces Samsung’s broader narrative of AI-driven personalization and seamless cross-device interaction. This aligns with the company’s recent push around SmartThings and on-device intelligence.

Focus on AI-led experiences

The central takeaway from the teaser is Samsung’s emphasis on AI as a companion rather than a background tool. The company is expected to showcase how AI adapts to user habits across screens, appliances, and connected environments. This could include smarter content recommendations on TVs, context-aware controls for home appliances, and tighter integration between devices within the SmartThings ecosystem.

Samsung has consistently highlighted on-device and hybrid AI models, suggesting that privacy and local processing could remain part of the conversation during the event.

Event timeline and sessions

The First Look 2026 will officially begin on January 4 at 7 p.m. PST, two days before CES 2026 opens. The media event will be followed by four days of exhibitions, tech forums, and related sessions running through January 7.

Samsung has confirmed that its tech forums will take place from January 5 to 6, with sessions covering AI, home appliances, and design. These forums typically provide deeper technical context beyond the headline announcements.

Samsung executives, including senior leadership from its Device eXperience, Visual Display, and Digital Appliance divisions, are expected to outline customer experience strategies during the media event. More detailed product announcements and demonstrations are likely to be reserved for CES show floor briefings and forum sessions.
