
Xiaomi is expected to launch the purported Redmi Turbo 5 lineup in China soon, which will include the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi 5 Turbo Pro smartphones. Several leaks have already suggested that these handsets will be made official in the coming week, even though the company has not officially confirmed any details yet. Now, a new leak has revealed that both devices will be powered by MediaTek chipsets. Moreover, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro has received the 3C certification, which reveals the charging speed of the phone.
Redmi Turbo 5 series: Expected specifications
Weibo tipster Panda is Bald has now claimed that the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 smartphone will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity chipsets. The standard Redmi Turbo 5 is mentioned to be powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8500 SoC, while the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is said to be backed by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500e SoC. Interestingly, both these chipsets are yet to go official, and are expected to be unveiled in the coming days.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8500 is tipped to be manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process, with a core clock speed of up to 3.4GHz. Meanwhile, the Dimensity 9500e will likely be manufactured using a more advanced 3nm process, with a peak frequency of 3.73GHz. Both chipsets are also likely to be powered by advanced Mali GPUs.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro was also spotted on China's 3C certification website with model number 2602BRT18C. As per the screenshot of the listing, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is associated with a bundled charger of model number MDY-18-EW, which has a 5VDC 3A output. This model number and charging speed correspond to 100W. Moreover, the handset is expected to come with a 9,000mAh battery, while the Redmi Turbo 5 is tipped to come with an 8,000mAh battery and support for similar 100W fast charging.
