Planning a vacation often means opening multiple apps, scrolling endlessly through hotel options, comparing prices, and reading dozens of reviews. It’s time-consuming and, frankly, exhausting. Perplexity AI wants to change that.
The AI-powered search startup has quietly introduced a hotel booking feature that aims to make discovering and booking hotels as simple as asking a question. Think of it as having your own personal travel concierge—one that’s fast, smart, and available 24/7.
“You can ask detailed, complex queries, and get tailored hotel recommendations in seconds,” said Dhruv Bhalla, Head of Consumer Verticals at Perplexity, in a recent post on X. The idea is to cut down the 30-minute hotel hunt into a quick, intelligent exchange with AI.
So, what makes it different from traditional platforms like MakeMyTrip or Booking.com?
For starters, you don’t need to search manually. Instead of selecting filters and scrolling through hundreds of listings, users can type in specific questions like-- “Find a budget-friendly, pet-friendly hotel in Jaipur close to historical sites.” The AI understands the context and instantly serves up curated results.
What’s more, you can ask follow-up questions about the hotel itself—whether it’s walkable to nearby cafés, if it has a spa, or if it's suitable for children. No need to sift through fine print or external reviews. Perplexity brings all that information to you in a conversational format.
And once you’ve found the right place, you can book it directly through the platform. There’s even a 10% discount for Pro users on every booking.
This feature isn’t just about convenience—it’s about changing how people think of travel planning. By combining conversational AI with real-time hotel data and booking integration, Perplexity is positioning itself as a serious alternative to conventional travel apps.
