Numerous owners of the OnePlus 10 Pro and 9 Pro have complained about malfunctions on their smartphones. The OnePlus Club posted a screenshot of several complaints from impacted users on X, claiming multiple motherboard failure issues. These issues are subsequently causing sudden shutdowns, compromising the usability of these OnePlus devices.
In a post shared on the OnePlus Community Forum, a user claims that the OnePlus service center asked for around Rs 42000 to repair the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G with a dead motherboard. He also claimed that the OnePlus support team stated that the issue wasn’t due to a software update and they could offer only a 10% discount on the repair. Currently, the OnePlus 10 Pro is sold at Rs. 44,499 on Flipkart. The user shared that after downloading a software update, the phone kept beeping and froze.
An X post from OnePlus Club also shared multiple similar complaints made by OnePlus users. The post added: “Recently so many OnePlus 9 and 10 series users have reported that their device's motherboard is getting dead and no support is being provided by OnePlus in this regard! It's really concerning that flagship users are facing these issues and they're left with no solution.”
It will be interesting to see how OnePlus responds to these malfunctions and quality control issues of their devices. The company hasn’t yet commented on these problems even as users are demanding free repairs and extended warranty of their affected devices. Previously, the brand had announced a lifetime display warranty for users who were impacted by green line issues on older OnePlus smartphones.
