Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is getting a big pay boost for the first time in a decade. His base salary has been raised by 49%, now reaching $1.5 million for the 2025 fiscal year. Along with the salary bump, Huang’s variable cash compensation also got a 50% increase, adding $1 million more compared to last year.
In total, Huang’s pay package for 2025 is nearly $50 million—specifically, $49.9 million. This includes a huge $38.8 million in stock awards. According to a filing with the SEC, the decision to increase Huang’s salary was made to ensure it’s more in line with what other top executives at Nvidia are earning.
Nvidia, which makes the powerful GPUs used in the most advanced artificial intelligence systems, has been on a major growth streak. The company’s revenue for the 2025 fiscal year shot up 114%, reaching $130.5 billion. Its stock price has soared too, growing more than nine times between the end of 2022 and the end of 2024. Huang, who owns about 3.5% of the company, now has shares worth a staggering $94 billion.
On top of his salary and stock awards, Huang’s 2025 compensation package includes $3.5 million for things like residential security, consultation fees, and driver services—up from $2.2 million last year.
This raise comes at a time when Nvidia is thriving, making Huang one of the highest-paid execs in tech. To put it in perspective, Google’s Sundar Pichai also saw a pay rise, with his personal security and travel costs totaling $8.27 million, a 22% increase from the year before. Looks like it’s a good year for big tech leaders!
