The glass comes with integrated camera along with a host of Meta AI powered features that allo users to interact with AI and get the tasks done. Bow, Meta has announced a new wave of AI-powered features for its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in India, designed to make the device more useful, local, and interactive. Together, these updates deepen the integration of Meta AI into Indian users’ everyday routines.
UPI Lite payments coming to Ray-Ban Meta glassesMeta is testing UPI Lite payments for Ray-Ban Meta glasses, allowing users to complete small transactions directly through their eyewear. Demonstrated earlier at the Global Fintech Fest, this feature lets users look at a QR code and say, “Hey Meta, scan and pay,” to process payments under Rs 1,000. Transactions will be securely handled via WhatsApp-linked bank accounts, removing the need to use a smartphone or wallet for low-value purchases.
Deepika Padukone joins Meta AI’s celebrity voice lineupRay-Ban Meta glasses users will soon be able to interact with Meta AI through the voice of Deepika Padukone, available in Indian English (IN-EN). This option can be accessed on both the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and the Meta AI app. Users can ask questions, get quick answers, or simply chat with Meta AI, and the assistant will reply aloud in Padukone’s voice. This is part of Meta’s broader effort to offer personalized celebrity voices for its AI assistant, joining a global lineup of recognizable names.
Hindi voice interaction support now availableTo make AI-powered glasses more accessible in India, Meta has introduced full Hindi language support for Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Users can switch to Hindi through the Meta AI app under Device Settings > Meta AI > Language and Voice. Once enabled, the assistant can understand and respond in Hindi for everyday tasks such as taking photos and videos, answering calls, or playing media. The feature is powered by language tools from Sarvam, an Indian foundational model company, reinforcing Meta’s commitment to local innovation.
Diwali photo restyling adds festive touchIn time for the festive season, Meta is introducing an AI-powered Diwali photo restyling feature. Users can capture photos with their Ray-Ban Meta glasses and say, “Hey Meta, Restyle This,” to see their shots transformed with festive effects such as fireworks, lights, and rangoli patterns. The restyled images will appear in the Meta AI app, adding a cultural and creative layer to the glasses’ photo capabilities.
A step toward localised AI experiencesThe new features highlight Meta’s focus on building AI products tailored for Indian users. By integrating voice personalization, regional language support, festive creativity, and digital payments, Meta is positioning Ray-Ban Meta glasses as a versatile, locally aware companion for daily use in India.
