Lenskart is stepping into the smart wearables space with its upcoming AI Camera Smartglasses, called B by Lenskart. The smartglasses are set to launch in India by the end of December 2025. The eyewear brand says the device is designed to combine comfort with cutting-edge technology, while also opening its platform to developers across different industries.

The company announced that it will make the AI and camera technology behind the glasses accessible to developers and leading consumer apps in India. This means the smartglasses could soon integrate with everyday apps across categories like food delivery, fitness, and entertainment — turning them into a multipurpose wearable rather than just a lifestyle gadget.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, the same platform used in some of the world’s leading AR devices, B by Lenskart will feature an integrated Sony camera for hands-free photo and video capture. It also comes with a built-in AI assistant that runs on Gemini 2.5 Live, Google’s conversational AI system. Users will be able to interact with it naturally, similar to talking to a human, and perform tasks such as hands-free UPI payments, live translation, and accessing well-being insights.

In terms of design, Lenskart says the glasses have been built with comfort in mind. They weigh around 40 grams, nearly 20 percent lighter than many comparable smartglasses available today. The company emphasizes that the product is “glasses first,” ensuring it feels natural for daily wear.

Lenskart’s broader goal is to build what it calls India’s first full-stack wearables ecosystem, combining hardware, AI, and software development under one umbrella. It has already invested in several technology startups, including Ajna Lens, which works in the XR and AI space, as part of this vision.

According to industry estimates, the global smartglasses market could reach USD 4–5 billion by 2030, growing at a rate of about 30 percent each year, with India expected to play a key role in that growth. Lenskart’s move into AI-driven eyewear puts it among the early players shaping this emerging category in the country.
