Google’s Pixel 10a is set to launch next week on February 18, 2026, with the company teasing its design and listing a pre-order page. The company has, till now, not shed light on any of its features or specifications. However, one line on the store page has confused people, which states, “Keep video chatting, even with FaceTime.” This has sparked speculation about deeper FaceTime integration, with a native app for the video calling app in the Android ecosystem. But, it might not be the case.
Is FaceTime support coming for Android devices?
The Google pre-order listing for the Pixel 10a has an iPhone-to-Pixel switcher section, alongside notes about using AirPods or Apple TV with Android devices, highlighting how easy the migration process would be for a user who shifts from an iPhone to the upcoming Pixel 10a. The FaceTime section stands out because Apple's video calling service has long been tied closely to its own devices, with no switching process available till now.
On the face of it, this means that native FaceTime support could come on the Pixel 10a, possibly through a workaround or even an official Android app. Instead, multiple reports have now pointed out that this likely points to Apple's existing web-link system, which lets Android and Windows users join FaceTime calls through a browser. Moreover, this is not exclusive to Pixel phones, as web sign-in for FaceTime has been available on all Android devices for some time now.
Currently, if an iPhone user sends any Android user a FaceTime link, they just need to access a browser like Chrome or Edge, enter their name, allow basic permissions of camera and mic access, and their video call will be connected. However, with this web video calling, there are no advanced features like reactions, effects, SharePlay, spatial audio, or screen sharing. A native FaceTime app for Android devices, including Pixels, could solve this issue. We will have more clarity around this FaceTime support on Pixel 10a after the phone is launched next week.
