The Apple Watch Series 10 models will come in bigger sizes and thinner designs, noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed in his latest post on Medium. The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to be unveiled in September 2024.
According to Kuo, the Apple Watch Series 10 models will feature bigger screen sizes when compared to the Apple Watch Series 9 models. The diameter of the Apple Watch Series 10 model will be increased from 45mm to 49mm, while that of the 41mm one will be increased to 45mm.
Ming-Chi Kuo added that the Apple Watch Series 10 models are also getting thinner casings, a prediction similar to an earlier Bloomberg report as per which the Apple iPhone 17 will have a “significantly skinnier” design.
Based on more reports, Apple is expected to go for a thinner form factor for its upcoming iPhone, iPad and MacBook models. It has been seen that Apple's strategy is to go for thinner, lighter devices while trying to improve their battery life.
New Apple Watch Ultra to retain the specsThe TF International Securities analyst added that the new Apple Watch Ultra model will have “roughly the same” specifications as the previous one but if “production yields meet expectations”, Apple may introduce “new case color options (black/dark)” for the Apple Watch Ultra.
Apple Watch components to be manufactured using 3D Printing technologyContinuing with his predictions, Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that “beginning in 2H24, Apple Watch will include components manufactured using 3D printing technology” and that BLT will supply the 3D-printed components.
Kuo said that Apple has done “intensive testing” during 2023 which has led to significant improvement in the production efficiency of 3D printing. Due to the cost advantages 3D printing brings, BLT is expected to ship more 3D-printed components over the coming years and has “the potential to produce Apple Watch cases”.
