Apple’s first foldable iPhone may feature a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer screen. The details come from Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, matching earlier information shared by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in March. This gives the leaked specifications added weight, assuming the new report isn’t merely repeating Kuo’s prediction.
In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from Samsung is rumoured to offer an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer panel.
TrendForce believes Apple is targeting a launch window in the second half of 2026, which could place the debut around September next year.
Kuo recently added that both Apple’s foldable iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 will likely adopt a “crease-free” inner display. According to him, Apple plans to use a laser-drilled metal plate to reduce the visible crease by dispersing the stress of folding.
The foldable iPhone is expected to ship with two rear cameras, a single front camera, and a power button with Touch ID support. Unlike other iPhones, Face ID may not be included.
