One of the most highlighted features -- Apple Intelligence -- was missing from iOS 18 at the time of rollout last month. However, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up to roll out the Apple Intelligence to compatible iPhones later this month along with the iOS 18.1 update.
When Apple Intelligence will roll out?
According to the report, Apple is expected to roll out the Apple Intelligence features to iPhones with iOS 18. 1 update which, according to Gurman, is likely to arrive on October 28.
Apple Intelligence is expected to debut on October 28 as part of the iOS 18.1 update. This showcases over a month of delay in introducing AI features to the latest iPhones. However, Gurman has mentioned that Apple is making sure that the new AI features and updates are stable and bug-free, which is causing a slight delay.
Apple has been cautious, making sure that its AI cloud servers are fully prepared to handle the expected surge in traffic, post the launch.
Not all the AI features will be available
Other than the roll out details, Gurman has also highlighted that Apple Intelligence's initial release won’t include all the exciting features Apple teased at WWDC 2024 in June. The first iOS 18.1 update might include limited AI features like notification summaries, an AI writing tool, a redesigned Siri, and more.
Subsequent iOS 18 platform updates are expected to introduce more advanced AI features. The report further states that OpenAI’s ChatGPT integration into iPhone, along with the Genmoji feature for generating custom emojis, will be available with the iOS 18.2 update, which is expected to be rolled out in December.
Apart from the newly launched iPhone 16 series, Apple Intelligence will also be available on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
