As September 9 approaches, there is a lot of anticipation around what new products Apple could unveil at the Its Glowtime event. While the new iPhone models will arrive, there is talk about new iPad models also being unveiled. Here’s what to expect:
11th-gen iPad may arrive
It has been two years since the entry-level iPad was refreshed. The 10th-generation iPad was launched in September 2022. Rumours suggest that the 11th-generation iPad could be on the way. The 10th-gen iPad is powered by A14 processor, which is now almost four years old. It’s not known which processor may power the iPad 11th-gen. But it is unlikely that the M-series processor make their way to the entry-level iPad. It is possible that the 11th-gen iPad could be powered by A16 or A17 processor. In terms of design, not much is expected to change as Apple overhauled the look with the 10th-gen iPad.
iPad mini rumoured to launch
The iPad mini hasn’t seen a refresh since 2021, so it is likely that Apple brings a new model on September 9. Rumours suggest that Apple could introduce iPad mini with the A18 processor. This could be significant as it means iPad mini could run and support all Apple Intelligence features. Rumours also suggest that Apple could bump storage to 128GB for the starting variant of the iPad mini. The design is unlikely to change but the front camera placement could be moved by Apple.
Since the iPad Air and iPad Pro were unveiled in May this year, these two are the only models which haven’t seen any action in the last few years.
