Dwayne Bravo recently shared his perspective on former CSK teammate MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League (IPL). At 44 years of age, Dhoni featured for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2025 season, continuing to keep fans guessing about his retirement from franchise cricket till the end. True to his style, the iconic former India captain has yet to make any public statement regarding his plans to step away and stay in the game.
As the 2026 edition of the IPL nears, Dhoni will be close to turning 45. Speaking in a recent interview with ANI, Bravo—a former West Indies all-rounder and legend of the game, addressed the ongoing speculation.

He stated that neither he nor the CSK camp is worried about Dhoni’s retirement, adding that much of the speculation stems from outsiders, not the team itself. Bravo went on to emphasize that Dhoni still remains the most reliable wicketkeeper in the IPL.
"I think because of the high expectations from him. He is not the same person he was 8 or 10 years ago. When he is not scoring like before people start asking questions. CSK management isn't worried about Dhoni's retirement; it's other people who are concerned, and that baffles me. He's still the best Wicket-keeper in the IPL. He'll walk away from the sports whenever he thinks he can't contribute enough. He will be honest with himself and he will walk away, MSD, the name and brand, is more important than anything else," said Bravo on Dhoni's retirement.

During the 2025 season, Dhoni played 14 matches for CSK and stepped up as captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad was sidelined due to injury. The veteran, who has led CSK to five IPL titles in the past, scored 196 runs at an average of 24.50. Although his batting came under scrutiny, his reflexes and agility behind the stumps remained as sharp as ever.
