US astronaut sips ketchup straight from the bottle while floating in space, watch video here

Astronaut Matthew Dominick is making waves on social media, offering space enthusiasts an exciting glimpse of life aboard the International Space Station (ISS). As a current ISS resident, he frequently shares fascinating moments with his Earth-bound followers. In his latest post, Dominick entertained his fans with a fun video of himself drinking directly from a ketchup bottle while floating around the space station.

“This one’s for all the ketchup fans out there. Everyone either loves it or finds it gross—nothing in between," Dominick humorously captioned the video, adding, "Also, some interesting science stuff happening too.”

Ketchup Fun on the ISS

In the video, Dominick shakes the ketchup bottle, ready to take a sip, while a fellow astronaut asks, “What are you doing?” With a grin, he replies that he plans to drink the ketchup and proceeds to squeeze the condiment directly into his mouth. The other astronauts on board giggle at his antics, making the video even more amusing.

The video sparked mixed reactions from viewers. Some were fascinated, while others weren’t as impressed. One commenter noted, “The dynamics are interesting, but I’m not calling it awesome. Ketchup is great on food, but that’s where it belongs.” Another added, “OMG! It’s gross, but also amazing!” A third joked, “I just told my daughter not to do that on Earth!”

Who is Matthew Dominick?

Dominick joined NASA’s Astronaut Candidate Class in 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of San Diego and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. He’s also a graduate of the US Naval Test Pilot School, where he honed his skills before heading to space.
