For early risers in Hawaii, the sky lit up again. Lava burst from Kilauea, painting a fiery scene. The volcano has become something of a regular performer, offering a dramatic 25th eruption since late December.

Lava Show Lasts Just Eight Hours

The latest eruption lasted about eight hours this Wednesday. Lava fountains shot from the northern vent with force. Some streams soared more than 1,000 feet into the air. Others spilt out, feeding multiple glowing rivers across the crater.

Scientists at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory watched closely again. They noted the event followed Tuesday’s gas-pistoning activity. Gas collected at the lava column's top before bursting. This caused lava to rise, spill, and drain repeatedly. The behaviour intensified before a steady dome fountain appeared.

Eruption Brings Hazards With Beauty

The United States Geological Survey has issued fresh warnings. Volcanic gas is now the primary concern for many. These gases travel far downwind and affect wide areas. Even with stunning visuals, the risks remain serious.
