Sannidhanam: The virtual queue booking for the Sabarimala Mandala Pooja darshan will open today (December 11) at 5 pm. Devotees can reserve their slots for December 26 and 27 through the official website sabarimalaonline.org. The system is expected to witness heavy traffic as pilgrims prepare for one of the most significant days of the Mandalam season.

According to the Devaswom authorities, 30,000 devotees will be permitted through the virtual queue on December 26, while 35,000 devotees will be allowed entry on December 27. In addition, 5,000 spot bookings will be available on both days for pilgrims who arrive without prior reservations.

Extensive Water and Snack Distribution Network

A comprehensive service network has been set up to assist pilgrims along the trekking route. From Neelimala to Urakuzhi, facilities will operate round the clock to ensure an uninterrupted supply of drinking water and snacks. The distribution system, known for its wide coverage, includes 20 red water counters and 27 kiosks positioned at key points.

To support continuous operations, two high-capacity 5,000-litre boiler units are functioning 24 hours a day at Sharankuthi. These units prepare the signature red water provided to devotees throughout their journey.

Nearly 500 personnel have been deployed in three shifts to manage the distribution. With the expected increase in footfall, additional staff and resources have also been positioned in areas witnessing higher congestion.

Enhanced Arrangements at High-Rush Zones

Extra manpower has been assigned at the pavement and nadapanthal zones, where the crowd is often the heaviest. Five trolleys and around 120 workers have been deployed in three shifts to ensure timely delivery of refreshments.

Red water and biscuits are being distributed at major centres including Sabaripeetham, Marakoottam, Sharamkuthy, Nadapanthal, and Pandithavalam. Authorities said more than 1.6 crore biscuits have been distributed so far this season.

Support Measures Continue Throughout the Pilgrimage Route

The arrangements aim to ensure that every devotee receives essential services without delay. Continuous monitoring, additional counters, and strengthened manpower have been put in place to manage the Mandala Pooja rush efficiently.

Officials added that all efforts are being made to provide a safe, smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience as the Mandalam season reaches its peak.
