Mysterious Colour-Changing Shivlings: The Chowk area of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh is home to the ancient Choksi Nath Temple, a sacred place revered for its deep spiritual energy and mysterious phenomenon. The temple houses two Shivlings naturally joined together, and what fascinates devotees is their miraculous colour-changing nature, believed to shift between blue, brown, and black. This divine wonder draws countless devotees who come seeking blessings, peace, and relief from hardships. (As per News18.com)

According to long-held local belief, during severe drought, the Shivlings are immersed in water to please Lord Indra. Devotees say this ritual results in rainfall, saving the region from natural distress. This faith has continued for centuries, strengthening the temple’s spiritual importance.

A Family Protecting the Temple for 900 Years

Head priest Vijay Giri shares that the temple’s roots go back to his ancestor Pandit Sukhlal, who is believed to have received divine visions of Lord Shiva. Remarkably, the same family has protected and served this temple for nine generations, maintaining traditions and ensuring the sanctity of the shrine.

Faith, Miracles and Unbroken Devotion

Devotees believe that having darshan of Mahadev here fulfils wishes and shields the region from calamities. The colour-changing Shivlings remain the most mystical attraction, inspiring awe and devotion. During drought-like conditions, both Shivlings are submerged in water, and locals claim rain follows soon after, further strengthening faith.

Amavasya holds special significance at Choksi Nath Temple. A grand fair is organised, attracting thousands of devotees from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and neighbouring regions. People bow before Lord Shiva with the belief that blessings from Bholenath remove obstacles and bring prosperity.

This centuries-old temple beautifully blends faith, divinity, heritage, and mystery, making it one of Uttar Pradesh’s most spiritually powerful destinations.
