The sages eventually advised them to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati with full devotion. Their sincere penance pleased the divine couple, who lifted the curse and restored everyone back to life.

Impressed by their devotion, Lord Shiva bestowed his name upon the king’s lineage, declaring that they would now be known as Maheshwaris. Thus, the Maheshwari community was born, transitioning from Kshatriyas to Vaishyas.
