Kanakadurga Temple to Launch TTD-Style Online Services After Bhavani Deeksha

The Bhavani Deeksha Viramana celebrations at the Sri Kanakadurga Temple on Indrakeeladri concluded on a high note, with temple authorities terming the event one of the most successful in recent years. The well-coordinated arrangements and unprecedented devotee turnout have prompted officials to announce plans for a comprehensive digital platform aimed at streamlining temple services throughout the year.

Temple Executive Officer Seena Nayak and Trust Board Chairman Borra Radhakrishna said the temple would introduce online facilities on the lines of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) system. The initiative is intended to ease darshan procedures, reduce waiting times, and improve overall crowd management, particularly during peak days and festivals.

Officials noted that the temple’s newly launched mobile application received an encouraging response during the Bhavani Deeksha Viramana programme. Building on this success, the app will soon be upgraded to offer multiple services, including advance darshan slot booking, purchase of prasadam, parking reservations, annadanam contributions, satram donations, and booking of various sevas.

The Kanakadurga Temple has been witnessing a steady increase in footfall, with an average of around 15,000 devotees visiting on regular days. During festivals and special occasions, the numbers surge to anywhere between 30,000 and 50,000. With many devotees arriving without prior arrangements and spending long hours in queues, the proposed digital system is expected to significantly reduce congestion and improve the devotee experience.

Under the planned platform, devotees will be able to pre-book darshan slots and place advance orders for popular prasadam items such as laddu and pulihora. To support the initiative, computers and related infrastructure worth nearly ?10 lakh have already been donated to the temple.

Meanwhile, the Bhavani Deeksha Viramana, held from December 11 to 15, drew massive participation. Temple authorities reported that around 5.27 lakh Bhavani devotees took part in the rituals, with the total footfall expected to cross six lakh when general devotees are included.

To manage the crowds, special arrangements were put in place, including dedicated counters for devotees, 19 prasadam distribution outlets, three homa gundams, and bathing points along the river. Security and crowd control were overseen by nearly 3,000 police personnel deployed round the clock, ensuring the smooth and incident-free conduct of the event.

Officials said the successful handling of this year’s Bhavani Deeksha Viramana has reinforced the need for permanent digital solutions to cater to the growing number of devotees visiting the historic shrine.
