Shuchi Khanna’s paintings are inspired by elements from her surroundings.
New Delhi-based artist Shuchi Khanna’s work is strong but subtle. The Delhi University graduate and qualified commercial artist loves to experiments with mediums like oils, acrylics, water colours, gouaches and waterproof inks; and has an ability to present a unique point of view in her paintings. Her work includes semi narrative figuration, landscapes, animals as well as mythological compositions on canvas, paper and transparent sheet. She has also worked with ceramics and created murals. Symphony of Life, a recent show, revealed her fascination for nature especially painting landscapes. Urban cityscapes and abstracts inspired by Jackson Pollock also formed part of the show. Shuchi has nine solo and over 50 group exhibitions to her name in India and abroad. Some of them include Vibgyor-Colours of Life, India Habitat Centre (2012); Paintings of Protest, India Habitat Centre (2010) and This That & Then, Alliance Francaise de Delhi (2009). Her paintings also adorn the walls of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi; the Prime Minister’s office; Nehru Centre London and the Indian Embassy Berlin.
