The production of Chana is estimated to decrease by 2.2 per cent or 16 lakh tonnes (lt) to 71.7 lt 2015-16. The production of chana revised down from 74.8 lt forecasted in the third advanced estimate in May 2016. In third estimate, the production was pegged higher compared to previous year production mainly due to good weather conditions during harvesting season but the final production was lower due to lower yield.By: Skymetweather.com
