Watch: Chennai Ganesh Chaturthi pandal has installed a Chandrayaan-3 rocket model

As India celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi, pandals, adorned with massive and intricately designed idols of Lord Ganesh, have sprung up in every corner. One of these is an innovative Ganesh Pandal in Keelkattalai, a neighbourhood in Chennai.

What sets this pandal apart is not only the exquisite idol of Lord Ganesh but also the presence of a striking Chandrayaan-3 rocket prototype model placed adjacent to it. What's more, this rocket isn't merely a static exhibit; it comes to life, emitting smoke and steam, seemingly poised for a journey into the cosmos.

According to news agency ANI, this creation was designed by Shanmugam, a local designer. A video capturing the remarkable pandal has garnered lakhs of likes as India is in celebratory mode after Chandrayaan 3’s soft landing on the moon’s south pole just weeks ago.

“Year on year Keelkatalai bus stop pillayar never fails to impress. Glad he got his due credit now! Kudos to people who set this up,” one user wrote.

Another individual fondly reminisced, saying, " As a child, I used to cycle around my area to witness different pillayar & the creativity behind. Off late, the number seems to have gone down and there's almost no creativity. I wish more such creative pillayars come up in the coming years.”

Another user praised ISRO for inspiring people.

“ISRO taking space technology closure to all Indian households. This is phenomenal and will inspire a lot of young minds. And that's encouraging as you never know a small idea can bring a huge change,” the comment read.

The pandals will remain open to devotees for the next ten days, culminating in the grand Ganesh Visarjan on September 28.
