Dior has introduced its latest collection, L’Or de Vie, an exclusive skincare line that melds the elegance of high-end beauty with the remarkable benefits of wine. Priced at a staggering $3,200 for its most opulent offering, the collection harnesses the power of grape byproducts from the Château d’Yquem vineyard, renowned for producing wines steeped in history and flavour.

Wine isn’t merely a beverage; its byproducts have been harnessed for skincare for decades. A study published in the journal ‘Cosmetics’ highlights that grape pomace extracts, rich in bioactive molecules and polyphenols, offer numerous skin benefits, including anti-aging properties and photoprotection.

“After 30 years of research, Dior’s most exclusive line bestows on the skin the gift of longevity, helping to correct the signs of time,” the luxury house stated.

The L’Or de Vie collection comprises five meticulously crafted products, including a $1,700 (Rs 1.4 lakh) serum and a luxurious day cream at the same price. The collection’s pièce de résistance is the L’Or de Vie Le Cérémonial Vintage 2023, a limited-edition trio of products that promises intensive rejuvenation and comes with a price tag of $3,200 (Rs 2.69 lakh) for 3 serum bottles with 30ml each.

According to Dior, the new formulas are infused with “The Protein of Life,” a key ingredient discovered at the heart of the vineyard, designed to restore skin texture and youthful appearance.

The innovative skincare line utilises what Dior calls “Golden Drop Longevity Technology,” which combines two powerful Yquem active ingredients: Golden Sap and Golden Ferment. These ingredients enhance the product's concentration, offering immediate results, including a 30% boost in collagen production after just one application.

“L’Or de Vie seems to reverse the signs of aging and rejuvenate skin,” the brand claims, positioning its offerings as not merely corrective but transformative.

The limited-edition Prestige Edition L’Or de Vie La Creme jar will be available later this year in European/US markets, crafted from hand-blown Murano glass in collaboration with French artist Aristide Najean. Only five people can buy it and the price is on request only.

The jar features a delicate design, draped with glass grapes and adorned with 24-carat gold accents.
