A family from the United States has attracted widespread attention online after sharing footage of themselves arranging for a Domino’s pizza delivery to an airport terminal during a flight delay, rather than purchasing food inside the airport.

The video was posted on Instagram by Ali Van De Graaff and featured her family, including two sets of twins, waiting at the airport while attempting to manage hunger during an unexpected delay to their journey.

Text displayed on the video states: “Our flight was delayed and we didn't want to pay airport food prices so we ordered Dominos for delivery to the airport.”

The accompanying caption reads: “Airport food hack, let’s goooo!”

The footage shows members of the family inside the airport as they receive their Domino’s order, a moment that surprised many viewers due to the unusual nature of arranging takeaway delivery directly to an airport setting.

Rather than purchasing meals within the terminal — where food and drink prices are frequently higher than on the high street — the family opted for external delivery as what they described as a cost-saving measure during the delay.

The post rapidly gained traction online, accumulating more than 13 million views on Instagram.

The official Domino’s Pizza account joined the discussion in the comments section, posting the message: “just plane delicious.”

Online reaction has been mixed, with many users praising the idea while others raised concerns about consideration for fellow passengers.

One commenter wrote: “This is honestly genius, airport food prices are outrageous.”

Another added: “Why have I never thought of this before?”

A third user remarked: “Travelling with kids requires smart decisions and this wins.”

Humorous responses were also common. One person commented: “Domino’s really delivers everywhere now,” while another said: “Next level travel planning right here.”

A further post joked: “Airports hate this one simple trick.”

However, not all feedback was supportive. Some viewers questioned whether bringing pizza on board an aircraft would inconvenience other passengers.

One user wrote: “I would cry if someone ordered a pizza and I had to sit next to them on a plane and smell it the whole time.”

Another countered this criticism, stating: “Bringing food on the plane like this is rude as hell. Period.”

A commenter identifying as a flight attendant offered a professional perspective:

“I'm a flight attendant. It's a good idea... to eat in the airport... However, it's gonna smell up the plane, and a lot of those boxes are hard to dispose of on the plane because they take up a lot of space. Ever notice how small our trash bags are? Our galley trashes aren't that big.”

One user stated: “No way you took pizza on the flight. This might be the most inconsiderate family on the internet.”

The incident has prompted wider conversation about the high cost of food in airport terminals and the practicalities of arranging third-party deliveries to secure areas.
