UPSC aspirant's post after 12 attempts, no selection is viral

As the UPSC declared the results for the Civil Services Exam 2023, an aspirant named Kunal R Virulkar shared a post after not being able to clear the examination on his 12th attempt.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the results for the Civil Services Exam 2023 on Tuesday. While Aditya Srivastava emerged as the topper with All India Rank 1, Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy secured the second and third ranks respectively.

Amid this, a UPSC aspirant named Kunal R Virulkar shared his struggle in a  post after he was not selected on his 12th attempt. “12 attempts, 7 main, 5 interview. NO SELECTION,” Virulkar wrote while sharing a picture of himself outside the UPSC headquarters in Delhi.

“Shayad zindagi ka dusra naam hi sangharsh hai,” Virulkar, who describes himself as a UPSC CSE mentor, added.

His post swiftly went viral with over five lakh views. Social media users quickly flocked to the comments section armed with love and motivational messages.

"More power to you, Kunal," IAS officer Awanish Sharan wrote. A user commented, "We are all proud of you and there for you."

"No worries, sir. Keep on trying. You will succeed one day," a third user remarked. A fourth user added, "That’s shows your courage, bestest wishes for your career."

Meanwhile, a total of 1,016 candidates cleared the examination and have been recommended for different central government services, according to the UPSC said. However, the candidature of 355 recommended candidates remains provisional pending further verification.

The prestigious examination was conducted in the subjective mode over two shifts from September 15 to September 24. The CSE main exam spanned for three hours in each shift, commencing at 9 am and going on till 2 pm.
