A software developer has alleged that he was fired and rehired twice by the same firm within a month. Writing anonymously on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @giyu_codes, he claimed that a dispute with the company’s Chief Technical Officer led to his first termination, followed by repeated exits and rehiring by the CEO.
In a post on X, the US-based techie shared that his first dismissal came after he looked at some data, with the company’s CTO saying that he was “under-qualified’’ to access it. However, upon escalating the matter to the Chief Operating Officer of the company, the CTO’s decision was reversed, and he was rehired.
According to the developer, the situation worsened after the CTO learned about the reversal. He reportedly fired the developer again for “insubordination” and also attempted to have the COO removed.
“I got fired again for insubordination, CTO tried to fire COO,” the developer wrote on his X post.
However, fortune favoured him this time, and the techie was rehired directly by the CEO after his intervention.
“I got rehired by CEO and was told that only he can fire me,” the developer added.
The techie alleged that the CTO, who initially fired him, is threatening him.
“Now I was threatened by CTO that he demands I'm fired if my data turns out to be wrong. Corporate is crazy man why is it like this,” he said.
Over the last few weeks:- I got married (ty again guys) - I got fired by my CTO looking at data I'm "under qualified" to look at - I got rehired for reporting the aforementioned data by the COO - I got fired again for insubordination, CTO tried to fire COO - I got rehired… — giyu_codes (@giyu_codes) January 14, 2026
The post has garnered over 1 million views on X, drawing attention to office politics.
One user wrote, “You’re a threat to the CTO because you’re actually useful, so it’s best if you get fired.”
Another user commented, “It's all egos down the line, I guess. Survival of the fittest and may the best data win?”
A third user said, “The toughest challenges in software are human, while the technical ones are the most interesting.’’
