Metro vs. Scooty Bengaluru race

Bengaluru’s infamous traffic woes were on full display in a viral Instagram video, featuring two brave souls racing from Whitefield to MG Road, one aboard the Namma Metro, the other on an electric scooter.

The scooter rider kicks things off by frantically stashing his bag in the boot, joking about dodging the police before zooming off. Meanwhile, the metro participant heads to the station, only to discover a coach so packed there’s barely room to breathe, let alone find a seat.

As expected, Bengaluru traffic throws in its usual twists and turns. The scooty rider weaves through congested streets, humorously claiming he’s “channeling his inner Shivaji Lagar” to outrun the jam. After 35 minutes of dodging cars, potholes, and impatient pedestrians, he dashes across Church Street to the famed Corner House ice cream.

Then, of course, Bengaluru’s unpredictable weather adds a plot twist—a sudden downpour forces the scooter rider to reroute mid-race. By the time he finally reaches Corner House, his metro rival is already enjoying a relaxed scoop.

The metro commuter jokingly requests a lift home on the scooter, praising the comfort of a breezy ride compared to the sardine-packed train.

The video has struck a chord with Bengalureans, highlighting the daily comedy of commuting, the pros and cons of public transport versus personal vehicles, and the city’s signature mix of traffic chaos and surprise rain showers.
