spectacle, as humanoid robots performed live martial-arts choreography on stage, showcasing the country’s fast-growing capabilities in robotics and artificial intelligence.

According to CGTN, Dozens of G1 humanoid robots from Unitree Robotics performed the world’s first fully autonomous machine-led kung fu showcase.

The robots moved quickly between stances, stayed perfectly in sync, and adjusted rapidly, showing advances in balance and motion control.

The presentation also showcased the H2 robot, appearing at venues in Beijing and Yiwu dressed in Great Sage armour, a robotic dog, executing the legendary “Somersault Cloud” move as part of the festive celebration.

According to Reters, the gala highlighted China’s industry goals and future of intelligent manufacturing, featuring robots from Galbot, Noetix, and MagicLab alongside Unitree.

Several segments combined robotics with traditional performance art. In one martial-arts sequence, over a dozen humanoids executed complex sword, staff, and nunchuck movements alongside child performers.

The robots copied drunken-boxing moves, showing they could balance and recover after falls. ByteDance’s AI Doubao opened the show, Noetix robots joined actors in comedy, and MagicLab performed a synchronised dance to “We Are Made in China.”

Reacting to X, tech expert Evrim Kanbur lauded the humanoid robots’ martial arts routine, noting their real-time spatial precision, rhythm control, and balance.

Using cutting-edge AI and actuators, the machines brought kung fu to life, holding synchronised stances that surpassed last year’s debut -- all live on the planet’s most-watched television event.

The performances highlighted the shift of humanoid robotics from research labs to mainstream culture. By combining centuries-old martial arts with real-time AI coordination, the gala showcased China’s vision for the next era of automation.
