Galgotias University has been the hot topic across social media following a controversy at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi. What began as a showcase of robots soon turned into a wider debate, and unexpectedly revived a well-known dialogue of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan from the 1980s.
The Greater Noida-based Galgotias University drew attention after presenting a robotic dog named “Orion” at the summit. During an interaction with the media, Professor Neha Singh introduced the device and said, “This is Orion. You need to meet Orion. And this has been developed by the Centre of Excellence at the Galgotias University,” Singh told a reporter at the summit.
Soon after, users on social media identified the robot as the Unitree Go2, a commercially available quadruped robot manufactured by Unitree Robotics. The model is marketed internationally for research and industrial purposes. Questions were then raised about whether the university had developed the robot or had acquired it. Clips of the interaction were widely shared online, leading to criticism.
Responding to the controversy, Professor Singh issued a clarification to news agency PTI. She said the issue arose due to unclear communication. “The controversy happened because things may not have been expressed clearly. I take accountability that perhaps I did not communicate it properly, as it was done with a lot of energy and enthusiasm and very quickly, so I may not have come across as eloquently as I usually do,” she said as quoted by PTI.
She further clarified that the university was not claiming to have manufactured the robot. During another exchange with the media, she said, “Sir, your 6 can be my 9. Main jo kehna chahti hoon shayad ache se keh nahi payi. Samay ke abhaav ke kaaran, ya aas pass ke buzz-shor ke kaaran. Aur jo aap samajhna chahte hain shayad apne uspe poora dhairya nahi diya. (I may not have been able to express clearly what I wanted to say. Perhaps because of lack of time, or the noise and rush around us. And maybe you did not give it enough patience to fully understand what I was trying to say.)”
The phrase “your 6 can be my 9” soon went viral across social media platforms. Many users linked it to a dialogue from the 1986 film ‘Aakhree Raasta’, directed by K. Bhagyaraj.
In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays a double role. In one scene, his character says, “Yeh dekho, wahan se tumhe 6 dikh raha hoga, lekin yahan se mujhe yeh 9 dikhta hai. Yeh farq isliye hai kyunki tum ise apni jagah se dekh rahe ho aur main apni (Look at this, from your position it may appear as 6 but to me it’s 9. This difference is because you’re looking at it from your perspective while I am looking from mine).”
Memes soon followed. One user posted, “When you are a hardcore Amitabh Bachchan fan !! #Galgotias”.
A user shared the clip and wrote, “Galgotia Prof Neha Singh's, ‘your 6 can be my 9’ reminded me of @SrBachchan's Aakhri Raasta. What amazing film with such an interesting plot.”

One user commented, “It did. The movie dialogue carried weight though. That’s the only difference.” Another wrote, “Even the dialogue is copied,”

Meanwhile, according to sources, officials asked Galgotias University to vacate its stall at the expo after the controversy. Soon after, staff and students were seen clearing the pavilion, and the electricity supply to the stall was reportedly switched off.
