Triptii Dimri replaces Kiara Advani in Diwali 2024 release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has many new things that weren't there in the first two blockbuster instalments in the franchise. The latest among them: Triptii Dimri has joined the cast of the horror comedy film along with Kartik Aaryan, Elnaaz Norouzi and Naseeruddin Shah. Vidya Balan, Sara Ali Khan and Boman Irani are expected to make an appearance too.

The first film in the franchise released nearly 17 years ago, on October 12, 2007, and made over Rs 82 crore at the box office. It featured OG actor Vidya Balan as the haunted Monjolika and Akshay Kumar as Dr Aditya Shrivastav, the man who unravels the mystery. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which had the OG actor Tabu in the role of the wronged soul and Kiara Advani as the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan released in India on May 20, 2022 - it made over Rs 266 crore at the global box office.

Just a few hours after Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan posted a teaser on his social media page about a new 'mystery girl' for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, he went on to unveil his new co-star Triptii Dimri with his next posts.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 mystery girl reveal

Kartik took to Instagram on Wednesday, February 21, and posted a cut out of a jigsaw puzzle with a part of a woman’s face visible on it making it difficult to identify the woman immediately as only her lips were visible. He captioned it saying, “Solve kijiye is Bhool Bhulaiyaa ko #Bb3MysteryGirl #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 #Diwali2024.”

An hour later, he posted another part of the jigsaw puzzle that showed her eyes and had the same eerie background on a tabletop with five candles, one lantern, an ornate lock and key and a card with the film’s name printed on it. He captioned it with, “A chilling smile that instills terror in hearts.” He followed this post with the reveal post saying, ‘Welcome to the World of Bhool Bhulaiyaa and tagged Tripti Dimri, with hashtags of the film name and release day detail. Kartik’s announcement posts soon went viral with around seven lakh likes on each. The Bollywood actress had earlier posted the same photograph of hers that Kartik used on his Instagram.

Fan reactions to the post announcing Tripti's induction into the successful franchise included this one: “Bhabhi 2 in Bhool Bhulaiya 3” - a shoutout to Tripti’s memorable role in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. With this new film announcement, she is back on top.
