Oscars 2021 | 'Another Round' wins best foreign language film award ― all you need to know

Another Round, a Danish movie, bagged the 'Oscars 2021 Best Foreign Language Film' title at the at the 93rd Academy Awards held on April 25. The movie was directed by Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg.

Besides Another Round, the other nominees in this category were: Better Days, The Man Who Sold His Skin, Collective and Quo Vadis, Aida?

Another Round, a comedy-drama co-produced in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden, was awarded as the 'Oscars 2021 Best Foreign Language Film'.

The film had also earned Vinterberg a nomination in the 'Oscars 2021 Best Director' category. Another Round is a story that revolves around four high school teachers who consume liquor on a daily basis to see its impact on their professional and public lives.

Quo Vadis, Aida? - a  Bosnian war-drama thriller - was directed by Bosnian filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić. The movie is centred around the protaganist Aida - a translator for the United Nations in the town of Srebrenica. The movie is based in the time period of 1995, when the town was taken over by the Serbian army and thousands of citizens were looking for shelter in the UN camp.

Collective, a Romanian documentary-thriller, was directed by Romanian cinematographer Alexander Nanau. The film revolves around journalists uncovering health care fraud in the wake of a deadly nightclub fire in Romania's Bucharest, in 2015.

The Man Who Sold His Skin was directed by Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania. The movie, portions of which are in English, Arabic, French and Swedish languages, is centred around a Syrian refugee whose back  is used as a canvas by a tattoo artist in Lebanon.

Better Days, a Chinese romance-crime drama, was directed by Hong Kong-based filmmaker Kwok Cheung Tsang. The plot of Better Days revolves around an intriguing murder case, which involves a bullied high school student and a small-time criminal as the prime suspects.
