A doctor recently saved an elderly man at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The incident, which took place earlier this week, has since gone viral on social media, showcasing the critical role of prompt medical intervention.

Dr Priya, a resident of Ajmer, Rajasthan, was at Terminal 2 of the airport when she and her husband, Dr Ramakant Goyal, saw the elderly man collapse from a heart attack. Reflecting on the event, Dr Priya told news agency ANI, "No one can replace God. We are only God's representatives. We can do any work by His grace and His signal."

The rescue was captured on video, showing Dr Priya urgently performing chest compressions and calling for airport staff. The video, shared widely on social media, showed the man regaining consciousness as Dr Priya continued CPR. Social media users praised her for her quick action and lifesaving efforts.

Recalling the incident, Dr Priya explained, "My husband and I were at the airport when we saw an elderly man collapse. A doctor couple, Dr Umesh Bansal and his wife, Dr Dolly Bansal, were also present. The man was completely unresponsive, not breathing, and his heartbeat had stopped."

As the man's condition worsened, the doctors immediately began CPR. "He started turning blue, so we began CPR. After about five minutes, he became slightly responsive, started breathing a little, and his pulse returned. We continued CPR until his pulse became more normal. Airport staff arrived on the scene, and we called his wife. The airport personnel then took him for further medical care," Dr Priya recounted.

While sharing the video, X user Rishi Bagree praised Dr Priya's efforts. The caption read, “Today at T2 Delhi Airport, a gentleman in his late 60s had a heart attack in the food court area. This lady doctor revived him in 5 minutes. Super proud of Indian doctors. Please share this so that she can be acknowledged.

Social media users heaped praise on Dr Priya and called for her to be awarded in the comments section.

"That woman literally snatched uncle’s soul from Yamraj. Super proud of her ," a user wrote. Another user commented, "That's incredible news! Kudos to the lady doctor who acted swiftly and revived the gentleman within just 5 minutes. Proud of our doctors for their dedication and life-saving skills!"

"This lady doctor should be Awarded for this immediately. @AAI_Official," a third user remarked.
