According to PRWeek’s conference listing, Kristin Cabot will participate in a 30-minute session titled 'Kristin Cabot: Taking Back the Narrative.'

Kristin Cabot, the former Chief People Officer of US-based technology firm Astronomer, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at PRWeek’s Crisis Communications Conference 2026, scheduled to take place on April 16 in Washington, DC.

Cabot came under intense public scrutiny in July 2025 after a “kiss cam” moment at a Coldplay concert captured her in an intimate embrace with Andy Byron, then the chief executive officer of Astronomer. The footage, shown on a stadium jumbotron and broadcast to thousands of attendees, quickly circulated online and triggered allegations of an extramarital relationship, leading to the resignations of both senior executives.

According to PRWeek’s conference listing, Cabotwill participate in a 30-minute session titled “Kristin Cabot: Taking Back the Narrative.” The session will examine the communications response to a viral personal scandal that drew billions of online views and the sustained public attention that followed. Tickets for the conference are priced between $750 and $875 (approximately Rs 67,000–Rs 79,000), a figure that has attracted criticism on social media.

Cabot will appear alongside public relations consultant Dini von Mueffling, a PRWeek Hall of Fame inductee who represents high-profile clients including Monica Lewinsky. Von Mueffling was reportedly engaged by Cabot in the aftermath of the controversy.

The incident that led to Cabot’s departure occurred on July 16, 2025, during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. CCTV and broadcast footage showed Cabot and Byron on the venue’s kiss cam, reacting with visible alarm after their images appeared on the screen. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was heard remarking from the stage that the pair appeared either “very shy” or possibly involved in an affair.

The video spread rapidly across social media platforms, prompting widespread commentary and criticism. The situation escalated further after Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan, shared the clip on Instagram Stories. Within days, Astronomer confirmed that Cabot had resigned from her role as Chief People Officer, while Byron stepped down as chief executive.

Cabot later acknowledged the incident, describing it as a “bad decision.” In subsequent interviews, she spoke about the scale of the public reaction, stating that she received hundreds of abusive calls daily as well as multiple death threats. She characterised the experience as being marked with a “scarlet letter,” particularly highlighting the gendered nature of online backlash.

Cabot has maintained that both she and Byron were separated from their respective spouses at the time of the concert. Her husband, Andrew Cabot, later confirmed that they had been living apart prior to the incident.

In an interview with The New York Times, Cabot said: “I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss. And it’s not nothing. And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay. I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them.”
