While Bengaluru grapples with incessant rains and flooding, a few residents choose to look at the silver lining. They took to water-logged streets to catch fish. Some of them, such as those in Yelahanka, have been successful in catching multiple fish that arrived as surrounding lakes overflowed.

Videos shared by an ANI journalist showed residents of Yelahanka's Allalasandra showing off their catch of the day.

Videos circulating on social media show residents in other regions too have been using this "opportunity" to catch fish.

Meanwhile, in Yelahanka -- one of the worst affected regions -- the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel were deployed to rescue residents from flooded buildings in inflated boats. This is the second time in two weeks, Kendriya Vihar apartments in Yelahanka have been severely inundated. NDRF personnel helped residents reach the main gate using boats. According to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), Yelahanka received 157 mm (six inches) of rain in just six hours from Tuesday midnight to Tuesday 6 am.

In the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Wednesday, Bengaluru has received 23.6 mm of rainfall and, according to the India Meteorological Department forecast, the city will witness a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain/thundershowers very likely and heavy rains at times.
