Anand Mahindra receives brand new Scorpio-N: ‘Can’t wait to get behind the wheel’

It’s a big day for Anand Mahindra today as the industrialist received the keys to his company’s latest SUV, the Scorpio-N. The chairman of Mahindra Group shared a photo of the SUV and asked his followers to recommend a good name for it, adding in a follow-up tweet that he could “not wait” to drive it.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s all-new Scorpio-N is the third generation of the Scorpio car that was unveiled around two decades ago. Launched at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh, the Scorpio-N attempts to bridge the gap between the rugged Thar and the plush XUV700.

Anand Mahindra received his red Scorpio-N in Mumbai today – more than two weeks after his company began deliveries. He asked his 9 million-strong Twitter family to suggest names for the new car.

“Big day for me; received my ScorpioN…. Need a good name for it…Recommendations welcome!” the chairman of Mahindra Group tweeted.

“I first thought the person on the left purchased it and the keys are being handed over by Anand Mahindra commented,” one person commented on the picture.

To this, Mahindra, 67, responded: “Not today. Today I was being selfish…Can’t wait to get behind the wheel..”

The Scorpio-N was launched on June 27. Mahindra & Mahindra said it received over 1-lakh bookings for the vehicle within half an hour when bookings opened on June 30.
