Jeep’s upcoming 2019 Wrangler has recently been spotted doing rounds on Indian roads. The American SUV maker is expected to launch the fourth generation of the SUV for the first time by Q3 2019.

A member of auto forum, Team-BHP posted pictures of the Jeep Wrangler and it reveals quite a lot.

The fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler was spotted wearing an “ON TEST BY ARAI” sticker, which could indicate that the car is hitting the Indian roads soon. The car has retained is iconic 7-slat grille and round headlights. It also gets two prominent DRLs on the front wheel arches.

Another of its classic attire is the beefy bumper with integrated fog lamps. It also retains the boot-mounted spare tyre found on classic off-roaders. But the boot is flanked by a set of modern looking LED tail lamps. The rear also sports strong wheel arches and a beefy bumper.

The car which was spotted in India was the Wrangler Sahara Edition, which is equipped with dual tone alloy wheels, chrome surrounds around fog lamps and comes with a hard-top as standard. The Wrangler available abroad also comes as a soft-top variant, as well as a 3-door or 5-door variant as well.

The SUV is available in a host of engine options, although it is unclear which ones will be offered in the Indian market. It comes with either a 3-litre V6 diesel engine, a 3-litre V6 petrol engine, a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine or a 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It pumps out 200-285 PS of maximum power and 352-600 Nm of peak torque depending on the engine size. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic.
