Apple's 'Scary Fast' launch event is set to take place on October 31. This will be the company's first evening event and the Cupertino tech giant is expected to unveil new Mac's.

Apple CEO Tim Cook draws a connection to Halloween just prior to the scheduled event. Cook posted on X (formerly Twitter), "We’ve got something special for you tonight. No tricks, just treats. Tune in at 5pm PT."

Trick or treat is a Halloween tradition where kids knock on doors, shouting 'trick or treat'. If they don't receive a treat like candy, they may play a trick on the person who answers the door.

How to watch the event?

The event, scheduled for 5:30am on October 31, will be livestreamed from the company's HQ in Apple Park, California. You can catch the event on Apple's official website or on the Apple TV+ app. Alternatively, you can also tune in to Apple's YouTube channel, which has been embedded below.

What to expect?

Apple is expected to reveal the new Mac line-up with M3 chips - the company's in-house silicon built on a 3nm process. The new chip promises some great performance boosts for the new line-up.

There are rumors that Apple will announce a new iMac, which is due for an upgrade. The last time the line-up was enhanced, was with the M1 chip in 2021.

Besides the iMac, Apple may show off refreshed 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, which are tipped to feature the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. They will likely be faster than Mac's running on M2 Pro and M2 Max which were announced earlier this year.

According to Bloomberg, fans of the Mac Mini, Mac Studio, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air may have to wait till next year for M3 chip upgrades. Apple has already switched to USB-C ports in its iPhone 15 line-up in compliance with EU rules, and it is likely the tech behemoth will do the same for the new Mac line-up.
