Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 announced, here's how much it will cost in India

The Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 are now official and will become available starting September 22. With that in mind, you probably want to know how much they will cost you in India. Here's the lowdown:

Pricing and availability

The Series 9 will start at Rs. 41,900 and comes in five colours. The second generation of the Watch Ultra will start at Rs 89,900. Both models can be pre-ordered right now, and will become available from September 22. The second-generation Apple Watch SE, launched last year, is the new entry point for the line-up, and starts at Rs 29,900.

Similarly, the new bands and loops shown off at the event can be pre-ordered now, starting at Rs 4,500, and will be available from September 22. The new loops for the Watch Ultra 2 start at Rs 9,500.

Specifications and features

Both the Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 will utilize Apple's S9 SiP chipset, which enables faster neural engine computations, faster performance and more efficient power usage for better battery life.

Apple says that the new chip is 60 percent faster than the S8 SiP on the Series 8. There is also a new gesture, which Apple calls 'Double Tap', where users simply tap their thumb and index finger together twice. This action will act as the primary button in any app, allowing you to pick up or reject calls, snooze alarms, control music, take photos and more.

Thanks to a second-generation ultra wideband chip, the Watch can also be used for precision finding to locate your iPhone, if it is, say, stuck in your couch.

The Series 9 will come in 41mm and 45mm case options, with an always-on retina display that has a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Apple says the Series 9 can last 18 hours on a single charge.

The Watch Ultra 2 will come in a singular 49mm case with an improved edge-to-edge retina display with 3000 nits of brightness. Apple says the Watch Ultra can last up to 36 hours on a single charge, and up to 72 hours in low-power mode.
