Under Operation Sagar Bandhu, the first tranche of relief material was handed out after the consignments were transported by INS Vikrant and frontline ship INS Udaigiri.
Previously, a top navy official had said that Karachi was a target option during Operation Sindoor.
INS Vikrant is 262 metres long, contains 15 decks and 2,300 compartments. It has an endurance of 7,500 nautical miles and can hold 30 aircraft at a time and a crew of 1,600.
Modi paid homage to the rich maritime heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who constructed several coastal and sea forts, including the Sindhudurg Fort.
The launch of INS Vikrant has raised hackles in China, with Chinese defence experts saying the aircraft carrier would have great significance for India as it would allow the Indian Navy to wade into the Pacific Ocean - which Beijing considers as its backyard.
